Prague (My Bucket List)

In my early adulthood, I started writing lists. Lists for everything. What to do, what not to do, what to want, where to go, christmas wishing list, shopping list, cute boys, ugly boys and so on. I am still writing lists, but they are different. I was reading the books “100 place to visti”, “1000 novels everyone must read” and so on, I made my list of where I wanted to travel. And when I saw the movie “The Bucket List” from 2007 with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, I realized that life is short, and there are no guaranties of a long and healthy life. So, I decided to make my own Bucket List.

One of the things that is on my bucket list, is “see Prague again”. I was there about 22 years ago, but for some reason, it was too long ago. I wanted to see it again. I brought my camera and left for a couple of days in Prague. I totally forgot about the cold winters….

“It is often safer to be in chains, than to be free” ~ Franz Kafka

This is the quote I am thinking about as I am walking through this beautiful city. The history of the city, both dark ages and newer history, the streets, the people and the river. This city has something, and I can’t really put my finger on it. And I guess that is why this city, the city of Prague came on my bucket list.

I am totally and utterly in love with this city. I have “checked” it off my list, but just with a pencil. I am going back. Not in the winter again, but maybe during summer, spring or autumn.

“Prague never lets you go… this dear little mother has sharp claws.” ~ Franz Kafka

Let me just finish my bucket list first. Then I might do it all over again.
